intoPIX has integrated its image compression solutions into Cobalt Digital product lines.
Designed to increase flexibility for live production as well as pro-AV applications, Cobalt Digital’s SAPPHIRE BBG-2110 mini-converters and INDIGO product family now incorporate IPMX support, streamlining KVM, screen content display, control rooms and other workflows. Support for JPEG XS will soon also be provided. The development aims to meet growth in demand for scalable solutions and the need for interoperability to aid transition to IP-based video infrastructures.
Commenting, Suzana Brady, SVP of worldwide sales and marketing at Cobalt Digital said, “intoPIX’s JPEG XS implementation is highly efficient on FPGA and remarkably fast in software. By integrating this technology, we expand the use of JPEG XS within SMPTE ST 2110 and IPMX workflows, ensuring optimised performance for cloud-based and live production environments.”
Jean-Baptiste Lorent, head of media, entertainment and proAV group at intoPIX added, “We are delighted to collaborate with Cobalt Digital in bringing JPEG XS into their latest products to enhance production efficiency. By integrating intoPIX’s latest compression technologies, Cobalt is providing powerful solutions tailored for the future of IP-based video workflows.”
